Job description
- Work with existing networking team to understand current network infrastructure and project goals.
- Design and execute routing changes as needed to allow branch network separation from data center network.
- Decommission obsolete networks and services without causing business impact.
- Provide an ongoing assessment and management of project risks and determine actions necessary to mitigate risks.
- Configure and physically install network equipment in new locations in the metropolitan Richmond area.
- Produce technical documentation to reflect changes and additions to network environment.
- Execute and follow the O&M change control process.
- Collaborate with other IT groups involved in the project delivery process.
Qualifications
- Minimum 8-10 years experience supporting large multi-platform local and wide area network environments.
- dvanced experience in the design and support of complex multi-protocol routing environments required.
- Deep familiarity with enterprise class Cisco routers and switches; Cisco CCNP/CCIE certification preferred.
- Familiarity with Cisco CLI, Eigrp, BGP, iBPG and static routing required.
- Familiarity with Juniper routers, switches, and access points desired. Familiarity with MIST and 128T preferred.
- bility to produce and update design and process documentation.
- Experience working with carriers to provision, decommission, and troubleshoot telephony and data services.
- Proven ability to ramp up quickly in new environments.
- Excellent communication skills which enable successful collaboration with senior level stakeholders as well as other technical team members.
- bility to collaborate seamlessly with geographically distributed team members.
- Experience with facility infrastructure build/move/teardown projects a plus.
- bility to travel to Mechanicsville, VA (Richmond area) for site surveys, research, decommissioning, and buildout activities.
