Northrop Grumman Defense Systems (NGDS), F-35 Sustainment Operating Unit, has an opening for a Mission Planner to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. You will be assigned as a Mission Planner supporting F-35 Autonomic Logistics Information System (ALIS) Operations at Edwards AFB, CA. Your Mission will be to support all Mission Planner aspects of ALIS while embedded in a dynamic military environment.
Your duties and responsibilities include (but not limited to):

  • Be a self-starter, work without direct supervision.
  • Integrate into a high tempo military operational environment.
  • Provide aircraft and spacecraft mission planning to include integration, support services and flight or ground operations services to accomplish test, training and/or operational objectives.
  • Assess mission issues, risks, and develops resolutions to meet customer objectives.
  • Acts as the central point of contact to ensure adherence to procedures and meet mission success. Develop routing and contingency logic, as required.
  • Produces related mission planning products for customers to review mission tasking and applicable intelligence.
  • Develop all training, exercise support and contingency operations in accordance with applicable standards.
  • Coordinates airspace requirements with applicable agencies depending on flight profiles.
  • Able to work collaboratively in a team environment with other highly motivated system/network administrators, and Mission Planners.

Basic Qualifications
  • Level 3: Bachelor's + 6 years of experience; Master's + 4 year of experience. 4 additional years required in lieu of a degree.
  • Candidates must hold an active DoD Secret clearance with a background investigation closure date within the last 6 years and be able to attain and maintain F-35 Program access.
  • Candidate must be able to attain and maintain DoD IAT Level II certification (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CySA+, or CCNA Security) within 60 days of hire.
  • This is an operational support role. The candidate may be required to support rotating shifts and work over 40 hours per week - which may include weekends and normal off shift time - as dictated by mission requirements.

Preferred Qualifications
  • F-35 aircraft experience
  • CompTIA Security+
  • Mission Planning Support Environment (MPSE) Installation and Configuration Procedure experience
  • Military Operations & Planning Processes (e.g., mission planning, post flight debriefing, etc.) experience

Salary Range: $86,300.00 - $129,500.00
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
