ABOUT THE ROLE
Be part of a team that applies its expertiseand knowledge to the successful design of gas turbine engines. The InstallationsAerodynamics group is seeking applicants who will strive to find innovative,cost-effective means for creating and improving products and technologies, andthe techniques and procedures used to design and validate them. You will beresponsible for the successful design of gas turbine engine inlet, exhaust,nacelle, compartment and duct systems along with electrical powered propulsionsystems using advanced analyses and design tools such as computational fluiddynamics (CFD) and conjugate heat transfer (CHT) analyses. You will be activelyinvolved in the testing of your designs in Honeywell's extensive testinglaboratories and aircraft, using advanced data acquisition and reductionsoftware. Frequent interaction with internal and external customers will requireproficient writing, speaking and presenting skills. Your work will be integral to satisfyingcurrent customers and securing future business by consistently meeting orexceeding Voice of Customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Aerodynamicand thermodynamic analyses using both 1D and 3D methods.
Aerodynamicand thermodynamic testing, including instrumentation specification, test planand results report writing and data post-processing.
Internaland external customer support with occasional travel.
Technicalpresentations and report writing.
Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status.
YOU MUST HAVEBachelor's degree from an accreditedinstitution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology,engineering, or mathematics.
2 years' experience in a technicaldiscipline, can include graduate studies.
US Citizen or lawful permanentresident due to export control restrictions
WE VALUE
Masters of Science degree inMechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
Strong fundamental educationalbackground in aerodynamics, heat transfer, thermodynamics and CFD.
Strong understanding of detailedaerodynamics analyses and/or test methods.
Experience in fireproof design andtest
Experience with CFD, preferablycommercial packages such as StarCCM+ Fluent, or CFX.
Proficiency with programming andscripting languages such as MATLAB.
Demonstrated mastery of MS Officesoftware.
Self-motivation and ability to workwith little supervision, consistently taking the initiative to get things done,doing things before being asked by others or being forced to by events.
Candidate should have effectiveproduct design and development skills, team orientation, the ability to setrealistic priorities, and focus on critical issues.
Ability to convey subtle or complexmessages clearly both in writing and verbally, as appropriate for the topic andaudience.
Good knowledge of aerospace industry.
Willingness to put in the effortrequired get the job done.
