Job Summary:
The Principal Infrastructure Engineer - Product Owner will be responsible for supporting the current traditional Linux based "on premises" VMware environment; with the emphasis and focus to migrate these existing systems to more of an "Infrastructure as Code" (IaC) environment in efforts to modernize. The ideal candidate Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Manages configuration process, performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition to translate to customer requirements into hardware and software designs.

The salary range for this role is 94,000 USD - 196,000 USD; however, RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. We are seeking this Principal Infrastructure Engineer Product Owner to support on premises work in our Aurora, CO location.
Responsibilities to Anticipate:
- You will leverage company and industry best practices and capabilities to assist with deployment, implementation, modernization, and support of DevOps solutions.
- You will be responsible for overseeing and improving the platform's over-arching design; looking for improvement in primarily in the O/S, COTS stack.
- You will be responsible for managing operating systems, server hardware, and configuration of private cloud environment using VMware.
- You will communicate any risks or issues involving system performance, availability, or security.
- You will assist with integration of the selected platform provisioning tool such as Terraform/VMWare or other related toolsets.
- You will assist engineers with DevOps/ IaC tool usage and issues, leveraging experience, industry standards and best practices.
- You will assist with the migration from legacy ClearQuest workflows to Jira and Jira Service Management workflows.
- You need the ability to obtain Comp TIA Security + (CISSP) Certification within 90 days.
Basic Qualifications:
- An active DOD-Secret issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
- Typically requires BS/BA Degree in Science, Technology Engineering Math (STEM) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or Physics and 8 years of related work experience.
- Experienced Leader able to lead a diverse team of Systems Engineers and Administrators.
- Experience with Linux System Administration such as RHEL 7.0+ or other related Linux OSs.
- Experience with Agile Development Methodologies such as Scrum, SAFe or other related.
- Experience deploying, configuring, and supporting CICD Pipelines such as Jira / Jira Service Management or other related.
- Experience with Automation frameworks such as Chef/Ansible or other related.
- Experience with code repository systems such as ClearCase/Bit Bucket.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Agile Product Owner Certification.
- Experience implementing Scaled Agile Frameworks.
- Knowledge and familiarity with Atlassian tool suite, specifically: Jira and Confluence.
- Container development and orchestration such as Kubernetes or other related tools.
- VM provisioning such as VMWare or other related tools.
- Knowledge and familiarity with Git/Jenkins
- Experience with programming languages such as Python or other related.
- General working knowledge of networks, storage, and virtualization.
- Background in COTS/FOSS product installation, configuration, and integration.
