The Principal Engineer role is remote position eligible for candidates from the United States.

VS (Vehicle component Solutions) Company (https://www.lg.com/global/mobility) of LG Electronics focuses on commercializing environmentally responsible automotive components and core solutions based on LG's proprietary technologies. A leading provider of core components for global car manufacturers, VS Company is supporting the emerging trend of the vehicle industry.
Position Overview:
The position needs knowledge on high technology-driven products as well as manufacturing in the automotive industry.This role is focused on developing projects by getting involved in developing technical requirements with a customer as well as problem-solving before/during/after development. This role is directly influencing the integration project development across all LGE VS company and requires high confidence in identifying/solving problems, communicating with customers/suppliers. The position needs to be a result-driven and self-motivated person. They will build up technical development capabilities within LGEVU.
Responsibilities:
  • Lead development planning as well as managing multiple feature development milestones
  • Identify and manage all project development qualities before, during and after development
  • Understand team responsibility and provide advice to team members in short to long-term
  • Manage MNO customer design request, develop specification and manage 3rd party solutions
  • Manage Software & Hardware issues and communicate the customer to handle the issues
  • Release weekly development progress report and communicate with customer's engineers
  • Communicate with LGE HQ Function domains not limited to program
  • Support to resolve both business, Network certification, and technical issues
  • Support to identify and manage all feature issues, publish a weekly report
  • Support cross-functional teams such as Validation, Manufacturing, Oversea R&D, Sales and Quality
  • Other Duties as Assigned

Requirements:
  • Bachelor degree
  • 10Years Related Experience
  • Ability to travel up to 60% (domestic and international)
  • Ability to work early/late hours as required to communicate with HQ offices in Korea

Preferred:
  • Experience or Knowledge of:
    • Managing multiple technical projects simultaneously and delivering to agreed-upon cost, quality, and timing expectations
    • Recognizing and mitigating both technical and organizational challenges
    • Leading and managing engagements with customers (mostly internal), collaborators, and 3rd party software developers
    • Knowledge or the ability to manage multiple MNO projects simultaneously and delivering to agreed-upon cost, quality, and timing expectations
    • Plan and coordinate teams of people
    • MNO certification & Telematics and Vehicle interface technology products
    • LTE/5G/V2X network or service new technologies to industry players
    • Managing technical teams building embedded system
    • The product life cycle from ideation to design to prototype to production
  • Passion for technology and problem solving
  • Strong commitment to quality and attention to detail
  • Desire to learn constantly and dive into new areas with unfamiliar technologies
  • Proven track record of working in and/or with distributed engineering teams, sales team, quality team, and customers
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with transparency being paramount
  • Knowledge of IATF 16949 certification, APQP&FMEA certification process
  • Bilingual(English and Korean)
