Form of workResponsibilities:
Database Management:
- Install, configure, and upgrade SQL Server instances both on-premises and in Azure IaaS.
- Create and maintain database objects, including tables, views, stored procedures, and functions.
- Monitor database performance and optimize query execution plans.
- Implement and manage database security measures, including user authentication, roles, and permissions.
Cloud Migration:
- Develop and execute strategies for migrating on-premises SQL Server databases to the cloud.
- Assess the existing database infrastructure and determine the appropriate cloud migration approach (lift and shift, re-platform, or re-architect) based on business requirements.
Azure Integration:
- Deploy and manage SQL Server databases in Azure IaaS virtual machines.
- Utilize Azure features, such as Azure Blob Storage, Azure Data Lake, or Azure Data Factory for data storage and integration.
- Implement and manage Azure SQL Database features like Elastic Pools, Geo-replication, and Managed Backups in an Azure IaaS environment.
PowerShell Automation:
- Develop PowerShell scripts to automate routine database administration tasks, such as backups, maintenance, and monitoring in an Azure IaaS environment.
- Utilize PowerShell modules and cmdlets to interact with SQL Server and Azure resources.
Performance Optimization and Troubleshooting:
- Identify and resolve performance issues through query optimization, index tuning, and server configuration in an Azure IaaS environment.
- Conduct database performance monitoring and analysis to identify bottlenecks and implement appropriate solutions.
- Investigate and resolve database-related incidents and errors.
- Be available for on call rotation.
- Be available for support during business-critical windows.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
- 8+ years as a SQL Server Database Administrator, with expertise in On-premises SQL, PowerShell automation, Azure IaaS, and cloud migration.
- Strong knowledge of SQL Server database administration, including installation, configuration, backup and recovery, security, and performance tuning.
- Experience with Azure SQL Database and Azure SQL Managed Instance in an Azure IaaS environment.
- Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation and administration tasks.
- Experience in database engineering/ software engineering is a plus.
- Experience using tools like SQL Sentry, Azure monitors etc. to monitor performance.
- Experience with Azure Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and managing SQL Server databases on Azure virtual machines.

The starting base pay is $101,900.00 to $132,800.00. Blackbaud may pay more or less based on employee qualifications, market value, Company finances, and other operational considerations.Benefits Include:
