Responsibilities:
• Database Administration of servers including Linux and Solaris.
• Database architecture design, installation, configuration, maintenance, and urgent troubleshooting efforts.
• Perform administrative and maintenance tasks on our Oracle and PostGRES databases.
• Perform planning, coordination, and execution of database installations and upgrades and patches.
• Respond to all database related work requests, including working with system maintainers, system engineering analysis, and integration efforts.
• Maintain and update design and database schema documentation.
Onsite only, this role typically is Monday thru Friday 40 hours a week. The work environment fluctuates between routine and urgent, depending on ongoing tasks, priorities, and performance of assigned systems.
Required Skills or Experience:
• Bachelor of Science Degree and minimum of 8 years experience
(– OR - 16 years of equivalent experience in lieu of a degree.)
• Must have a current DODI 8570.01-M IAT Level II (minimum) Certification or must obtain the certification within the first 60 days of employment.
• Solaris and Linux operating systems.
• Oracle and PostGRES Database Administration
• Oracle versions 12c and higher
• Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) and DataGuard
• RMAN for database backup and recovery
• SQL, PLSQL, OPatch, database and query tuning
• Ability to multi-task in a dynamic environment with changing priorities
Desired Skills:
• Scripting (sh, csh, bash, Python, perl)
• SUN cluster environment
• Information Assurance Vulnerability Alerts (IAVA) compliance
