Job Description

The AECOM Los Angeles, California office has an immediate need for an experienced Principal Engineer to take on a leadership role in our dams and geotechnical engineering practice. The candidate will have the opportunity to direct/manage projects for a variety of Dam facilities and associated appurtenances related to the Dam including spillways, outlet towers, pump stations, etc. and coordinate with a broad range of other disciplines within AECOM.
The candidate should have a high level of technical expertise and experience in supervising and training staff in geotechnical investigations, analyses, reporting, and construction observation. Business development for existing and new clients will be an integral part of the position.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • BA/BS + 10 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of education and/or experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 15 years or more experience including relevant experience with Dam projects including inspection, rehabilitation and/or new design and construction.
  • Master’s degree or PhD in Civil Engineering
  • Background in business development organization, coordination, and leadership
  • Strong commitment to ensuring safe project execution
  • Local travel required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Security clearance a bonus.

  • Relocation is available for this position.

  • Occasional client or project site travel as needed.
  • Offered rate of compensation (California locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The target salary range for this position is $145,000-$245,000.
