SAIC is seeking a highly motivated Configuration Analyst to join a dynamic and mission oriented team. This position is remote.
The candidate will support the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), Office of Space Commerce (OSC), requires system integration and cloud management for the Traffic Coordination System for Space (TraCSS). The TraCSS will be developed to help relevant US government agencies to begin re-assigning many aspects of space traffic management (STM) and space traffic coordination (STC) serving non-military US space operators.
TraCSS is the Department of Commerce's enterprise solution for ingesting, archiving, processing, and disseminating Space Situational Awareness (SSA) data and products. TraCSS will provide conjunction analysis and warning services to commercial satellite owner/operators to foster economic growth and technological advancement of the U.S. commercial space industry. The system will store data from the Department of Defense (DOD), NOAA, commercial SSA data providers, commercial and civil satellite Owner/Operators (O/O) and select international civil partners.
Job Description:
- Prepares deviations and waivers for government approval when specifications cannot be met.
- Reviews all issued document change requests, document change notices and associated drawings for accuracy, completeness, and proper signatures.
- Structures and maintains databases. Submits engineering changes to customers for review and approval; maintains records and submit reports regarding status.
- Prepares configuration verification audit record sheets for all programs.
- Receives assignments in the form of objectives and establishes goals to meet objectives.
- Develops technical solutions to complex problems, which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity.
Qualifications
Required Education:
- Bachelors and nine (9) years or more experience; Masters and seven (7) years or more experience ; PhD or JD and four (4) years or more experience.
Required Experience:
- 5 years of experience in organizing and maintaining the technical information library and performing the data management role to support the program or project of an appropriately sized (similar to at least Acquisition Category III level) ground system software and hardware program. This category of positions also includes data storage specialists, IT support staff, and technical writers with similar levels of experience.
- 5 years of experience in organizing, scoping, technically assessing, and proposing potential resolutions to maintain the Technical Program or project baseline of an appropriately sized (similar to at least Acquisition Category III level) system software, hardware, and training programs.
- In addition, at least three years of experience leading the overall configuration management role of relevant SE&I efforts for DoD, other Government Agency or commercial programs or projects of similar scope and complexity.
- Experience identifying, organizing, and coordinating software and hardware configuration changes for version management, system build, backup and recovery, archiving, and change management.
- Oversee the establishment of baseline configurations for applications, software, and hardware assets.
Desired Experience:
- Managing configurations of geographically dispersed large-scale 24/7 operational systems.
Citizenship:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Target salary range: $100,001 - $125,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
