Job Description
The Pricing Analyst will assume a pivotal role in examining market trends, performing economic research, and formulating pricing strategies in alignment with the company's strategic goals. The preferred candidate should possess a robust foundation in statistical analysis, forecasting techniques, and pricing methodologies. Furthermore, they will engage in collaborative efforts with cross-functional teams to furnish valuable insights and suggestions aimed at optimizing pricing structures and enhancing competitive positioning.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
- Price Management: Daily and Monthly Management of the Pricing Tool for both company-wide to region specific protocols and product lines. This will include updates to periodic data as it is refreshed from internal and external sources, modifications to the backend algorithms to meet corporate strategic desires, changes to business rules/process updated, product characteristics changes, addition of Customer Scoring to new customers, and additional ad-hoc updates.
- Track, analyze, and report competitor market activity and pricing strategies.
- Update the Power BI backend tables and calculations for preparing management reports on win rates and price utilization. Further, append competitive analysis to compare EMS’ pricing to the market on regional and macro analysis levels.
- Macro-Market/Economic Research & Analysis: Review and analyze North America and regional economic/macro-industry data to identify trends and assess market conditions.
- Strategic Planning Support: Produce long-range and tactical short-term forecasts and facilitate the consolidation of market strategic plans into a unified business strategic plan.
- Forecasts and Demand Planning: Utilize internal and econometric/statistical modeling to produce accurate forecasts of demand for orders and sales.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Proficiency in statistical analytical software such as R, SAS, or SPSS, as well as database tools like SQL, MS Access, Excel PivotTables, and MS SQL Server.
- Knowledge of visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or QlikView.
- Expertise in MS Office suite, including Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
- Strong commitment to meeting deadlines and project schedules.
- Comfortable analyzing data sets and working in data-sparse environments.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, including the ability to interact with senior executive management regularly.
- Adaptability to change in a fast-paced and constantly evolving environment.
- Effective project management skills.
Education and Experience:
- 3-7 years of experience performing advanced financial, market, and/or statistical analytics.
- Bachelor's degree in statistics, economics, mathematics, finance, or marketing.
- Bonus: Graduate degree in statistics, business, economics, econometrics, or a related discipline.
- Bonus: Experience working with econometric models and advanced statistical methodologies.
