As a Prep Cook, attention to detail is paramount in ensuring the success of the kitchen's daily operations. Key Responsibilities:
Ingredient Preparation:
- Follow detailed recipes and guidelines to prepare ingredients for daily menu items.
- Pay careful attention to measurements, ensuring accuracy in portion control.
Knife Skills:
- Demonstrate exceptional knife skills to cut, chop, and dice ingredients precisely.
- Maintain consistency in the size and shape of prepared ingredients.
Quality Control:
- Conduct quality checks on incoming ingredients to ensure freshness and adherence to standards.
- Discard any damaged or subpar ingredients, reporting issues to the kitchen supervisor.
Station Organization:
- Keep the prep station organized, with all ingredients labeled and stored appropriately.
- Ensure that all necessary tools and equipment are readily available and in good condition.
Cleanliness and Sanitation:
- Adhere to strict cleanliness and sanitation standards in the prep area.
- Clean and sanitize utensils, cutting boards, and work surfaces after each task.
Communication with Kitchen Team:
- Communicate effectively with other kitchen staff to coordinate and time food preparation.
- Collaborate with chefs and line cooks to ensure seamless workflow.
Menu Adherence:
- Strictly adhere to the restaurant's menu specifications and recipes.
- Collaborate with chefs to understand and execute special requests and menu changes.
Efficiency and Timeliness:
- Work efficiently to complete prep tasks within established timelines.
- Anticipate future needs and prepare ingredients in advance to support the kitchen team.

Qualifications and Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Prep Cook or in a similar kitchen role.
- Exceptional attention to detail in food preparation and presentation.
- Knowledge of basic culinary techniques and food safety practices.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Education:
- Culinary school diploma or relevant certification is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift and carry heavy ingredients, and work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
