Pre-Construction Project Manager - Solar C&I

The Pre-Construction Services team manages the Pre-Construction process for Commercial & Industrial (C&I) renewable projects. The Pre-Construction Project Manager will be responsible for projects in the post-sales phase through the acquisition of permits and utility interconnection approval for buildability. In this role the PM will be the Subject Matter Expert (SME) on the project while interfacing with several internal departments including:  Design & Engineering, Utility Interconnection, Procurement and Accounting. The PM will serve as the primary contact with customers and is responsible for subcontractor relationships.

We are currently seeking a Pre-Construction Project Manager that will support work within the North Americas.  The successful candidate can work in our Oahu, Hawaii or Sacramento, California office.  There is also an option to work remotely if you live on the West Coast. 
What you’ll do:

• Manage the project process post-Sale through Permitting and Utility Interconnection approval
• Analyze customer energy usage and needs from utility bills or interval data
• Understand electricity rate structures and pricing in California, Hawaii, and other jurisdictions as they occur
• Understand production output modeling utilizing industry tools or other comparable Company software, drawings and accompanying production output
• Ability to understand, interpret and provide feedback on PV solar system design and battery energy storage designs
• Provide the necessary support to reach contract execution in a timely manner
• Read and interpret Architectural, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, Civil and Landscape drawings
• Ability to utilize scheduling software, such as MS Project, Primavera, or others
• Ability to create, manage and maintain project budgets, integrating milestone payments and change order processes
• Read and interpret geotechnical, environmental, and other associated consultant reports that are necessary to build projects
• Work on concurrent projects and meet deadlines.
• Assist with and perform site evaluations, preparing detailed notes and documentation of site conditions for design and engineering, communications to sales and customers, project files and internal reporting
• Work with the Company’s Design department and architectural / electrical / structural design professionals to prepare design plans and project proposals which comply with project requirements
• Interface with Public/Private Utility Companies and municipal officials to prepare project documents.
• Comply with safety and building codes as well as legal requirements
• Ability to explain contract and technical requirements to others with precisions and clarity

What you’ll bring:

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Construction Management, Civil Engineering is preferred;  or 5+ years equivalent experience performing the Job Duty functions
• Maintain a valid Driver’s License and a good driving record
• Willing to travel up to 10% of the time
• Ability to determine work priorities and review work for quality and production standards.
• Must be highly motivated, adaptable, detail-oriented, flexible, and able to work both with a team and independently
• Must excel in customer service and data analysis
• Must have excellent organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills
• Must excel with multi-tasking, problem-solving, written, and communication skills

Salary range:  $95,000.00 to $140,000.00 based on experience
