Description
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Tarrant County is currently accepting resumes for Precollege Advisor. Responsibilities include participation, academic success programming, pre-college programming, case management, and administrative compliance.
Duties include but are not limited to being accountable for recruiting and enrolling eligible youth; meeting participation goals and objectives; acting as a liaison between target schools, parents, organization staff, and program staff; accountable for assigned programming and quality programming; providing holistic and comprehensive case management services to members; facility and child safety and administrative compliance.
The goal of the Educational Talent Search program is to increase the number of youth from disadvantaged backgrounds who complete high school and enroll in and complete their post-secondary education. The position requires working with large groups of youth.
Requirements
Education and Work Experience Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree required in education, counseling, social work, higher administration, or an appropriate field related to project objectives
- Minimum of one (1) year of appropriate and relevant professional experience working for a TRIO federal program or similar related program/project
Qualifications include
- Work regular program hours which are normally 9:00 am - 6:00 pm but could change based on school needs and/or organization needs. Periodic nights and weekends.
- Ability to build relationships and work effectively with youth and internal/external stakeholders including school personnel and administrators
- Ability to be patient with youth and adults
- Ability to identify needs and find solutions
- Ability to motivate others into action
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision
- Proficient documentation skills
- Excellent listening and interpersonal skills
- Ability to follow directions both verbally and written
- Strong working knowledge of secondary core course curriculum
- Knowledge of technology and software such as tablets, social media, cloud-based tools, virtual meeting tools
- Effective organizational and planning skills
- Ability to provide knowledge of college preparatory activities
- Must be able to obtain CPR and First Aid certification
- Must be able to pass background screen and drug screen at any time.
- The position requires driving a personal vehicle and a company vehicle. Candidates must have reliable transportation, liability insurance, a satisfactory driving record, and a valid driver's license for the operation of a motor vehicle relevant to carrying out duties and to be covered under the company insurance the requirement is for the employee to be a minimum of age 21.
Pay & Benefits
- Minimum Pay: $18.51 per hour (nonexempt full-time)
