Position Summary:
Practice Manager II (PM II) employees play a very vital role in California Medical Evaluators. PMs are assigned specific physicians and are responsible for coordinating successful evaluations from start to finish. The PM II will act as the primary liaison between physicians, attorneys and insurance adjusters involved in workers’ compensation and other medical legal cases. It is the PM II responsibility to assist the doctor in navigating the Medical Legal system, so the Physician can successfully author a report on an injured worker or other medical legal case and build a solid reputation in the medical legal industry.
It is important to know that each case has real life consequences for the injured worker and the physician. As the Physician Manager, you have the power to assist the doctor, the injured worker, the attorneys, and the insurance company by ensuring a smooth evaluation. Additionally, each case represents a significant amount of potential income for the doctor, CME, and the applicant. Therefore, each case should be handled with great care.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Successfully manage a group of medium to high volume physician QME practices
- Primary point of contact for assigned physicians for all CME and QME needs
- End to end case management for evaluations: validating accurate schedule coordination, validating evaluation day preparation, and ensuring report procurement
- Generate and analyze data/reports to help manage the physicians QME practice Maintain and grow physician relationships
- Manage relationships with law offices and attorneys
- Identify and present areas of opportunity that will help maximize listings for each assigned physician
- Facilitate new physician onboarding and training
- Facilitate monthly, bi-monthly or quarterly physician partner meetings
- Oversee that physician schedules and Evaluation Day Checklists are executed accurately, timely and are within department goals
- Problem solve through any day-of evaluation issues and help mitigate any obstacles prior to the evaluation
- Proactively monitors scheduling que to ensure department goals are met and assigned physicians schedules are maximized
- Proactively monitors rescheduled evaluations and cancellations, identifies ways to fill-in gaps
- Assists in the coordination of any post evaluations functions
- Updates, reviews and acts on status and dashboard reports
- Assists in the training and development of new department team members
- Manages relationships with vendors and CME departments
- Actively engage with all members of the CME team, including vendors
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Eager to collaborate with others and respect their feedback
- Coordinates a multitude of daily inputs to successfully and seamlessly provide excellent service
- Manages all routine assignments with little to no supervision or follow-up
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years’ experience in a busy healthcare, legal, clinic setting or similar background.
- Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Experience
