Details of Research Project: 

The Arriaga laboratory is seeking highly motivated postdocs to lead projects aimed at identifying therapeutic vulnerabilities of metastatic prostate cancer. Our lab combines functional genomics and mouse models to understand the consequences of genetic and epigenetic alterations in prostate cancer. Come help us build a fun, creative and supportive team!


Responsibilities

Technical Duties: 

  • Perform independent research in the area of cancer genetics, epigenetics and molecular biology
  • Critically analyze data quality and results, communicate results to scientists and lay people
  • Write or assist in writing grants and scientific papers
  • Work closely with other scientists to conduct research.

 


Qualifications

Educational and other Requirements for the position: 

  • PhD
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work in an interdisciplinary team. 

Experience Required:

Strong background in general molecular and cell biology techniques as well as previous experience in the following areas are preferred: mouse modeling and handling, prostate cancer research, epigenetics, patient -derived xenogrfts, bioinformatics, organoid/iPSCs.

Goals/Outcomes of the Research Project: 

The project will be expected to result in peer-reviewed publications as well as in multiple grant proposals that will prepare the candidate for future applications to independent research positions.

Compensation Statement

The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for this role is $72,500.00 - $80,000.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
