Description:

Responsible for performing a variety of duties to support the commercial lending and regional functions as a liaison between commercial lending, credit, documentation group to include requesting credit underwriting; underwriting for assigned relationships; presentation of annual reviews and renewals; financial statement and other documentation collection; credit management reporting and monitoring; assisting in the management and development of business relationships with existing and potential clients; assisting with various administrative functions, maintaining a high degree of creditability, adhering to internal policies, procedures, and practices, and participating in training opportunities as warranted or required.

Essential Duties

1. Regular attendance is required and will vary by position. For your specific schedule and hours, please discuss with your supervisor or division head. These hours are determined at the beginning of the year by your supervisor and are submitted to HR on the Budgeted Hours report. Based on need, the Bank does reserve the right to adapt at any point.

2. Handles daily and monthly administration work of the Commercial Lenders and ensures work is done promptly and effectively including managing the credit process on behalf of the Commercial Lender by working closely with the Credit.

3. Assist Commercial Lenders with the initial underwriting document, reviews the credit presentation prepared by Credit and identifies key credit issues in conjunction with the Commercial Lender.

4. Ensures sound underwriting principals and guidelines are maintained within the accounts, they monitor and that these accounts conform to all reporting and regulatory requirements.

5. Reviews content and accuracy of spreads and cash flow schedules prepared within Credit on assigned relationships.

6. Performs annual reviews of each assigned relationship and monitors interim financial statements and trends within the industry of the client.

7. Contacts customers directly as required or at the request of the Commercial Lender and identifies additional banking opportunities as appropriate. Attends calls with the Commercial Lender when warranted.

8. Monitors the asset quality and administrative functions of each assigned portfolio relationship and collaborates with Commercial Lenders.

9. Identifies, recommends and implements strategies to best reduce the risk of loss to the company in deteriorating client situations and upon review recommends risk-rating changes.

10. Assists the Commercial Lending team in audits and inspections.

11. Participates in Loan Committee and Loan Management meetings for assigned relationships in conjunction with the Commercial Lender as necessary.

12. Coordinates with Commercial Loan Officers, regional staff, Loan Documentation Specialists, Loan Administrative Specialists and clients to assist with the pre-loan closing process as necessary.

13. Assists regional staff and Commercial Loan Officers with following up on, and resolution of, open items as necessary. Places outreach calls to loan customers to obtain documentation; maintains follow-up giving priority to critical items.

14. Maintains an awareness of new business opportunities with customers; actively refers customers to appropriate personnel.

15. Performs administrative duties and project management to support the lending and regional function.

16. Supports the Chief Lending Officer and Market Executive in other portfolio monitoring efforts as needed.

17. Abides by the current laws and organizational policies and procedures designed and implemented to promote an environment, which is free of sexual harassment and other forms of illegal discriminatory behavior in the work place.

18. Cooperates with, participates in, and supports the adherence to all internal policies, procedures, and practices in support of risk management and overall safety and soundness and the Bank's compliance with all regulatory requirements, e.g. Community Reinvestment Act (CRA), Equal Credit Opportunity Act, etc.

19. Complies with established operating policies and procedures in order to maintain adequate controls and to support the Bank's adherence to outside regulatory requirements.


Ancillary Duties

Performs tasks that are supportive in nature to the essential functions of the job, but which may be altered or re-designed depending upon individual circumstances.

Requirements:

Education/Training: A B.S. or B.A. degree in a related field normally required with an emphasis in a business curriculum or equivalent work experience.


Skill(s): Proficient reading, writing, grammar, and mathematics skills; proficient interpersonal relations and communicative skills; proficient typing skills; ability to operate word processing equipment or sufficient knowledge to use word processing and spreadsheet software or other applicable software; knowledge of various office machines; ability to walk, bend, stand, reach, and stoop; valid driver's license; a working knowledge of the features and benefits of all bank commercial products and services; good project management skills; good customer service skills, good organizational analytical, and a working knowledge of bank operating policies and procedures which impact commercial services.


Experience: A minimum of three (3) years of experience in related positions normally required. Experience in credit and commercial lending preferred.
