Plumber - GMIA Airport
Hourly Pay Range: $45.54

Role Summary -
Perform journey-level work in the construction, repair and maintenance of building and site plumbing and all related physical assets as required.
Role Responsibilities -
- Complete Work Orders - Complete work or assignments - verbal or via WO system. Respond to building/site emergencies on a 24/7 basis. Troubleshoot and make repairs. Perform preventative maintenance duties for plumbing systems as directed.
- Prints and Drawings - Participate in maintaining accurate water, sewer and building plumbing drawings. Communicate changes engineering or GIS staff. Participate in data collection related to plumbing asset attributes.
- Shop Duties - Maintain an inventory of commonly used materials and equipment. Completes requisitions for the purchase of tools and materials. Maintain shop equipment in good working condition.
- Interdepartmental Collaboration - Collaborate with other departments to support the overall needs of the County building and physical assets.
- Participate in Contracted Projects - Assist with project planning. Attend project meetings. Offer recommendations related to departmental assets. Manage contracted projects and/or contracted staff as necessary. Estimate projects labor and material costs.
- General Plumbing Duties - Install, repair and maintain plumbing fixtures, equipment and plumbing distribution systems. Perform utility locating as assigned.
- System and device testing - Perform testing and repairs to cross connection protection devices as needed.
- Other Duties as Assigned - Support the overall success of the department by completing various tasks assigned.
Minimum Qualifications -
- Current resident of Wisconsin
- Valid Class D WI Driver's License
- High School Diploma
- Minimum Five (5) year of experience as a Journeyman Plumber
- Lifting and pushing up to 50 lbs
Additional Role Responsibilities -
- Intermittent or cyclical work pressures with occasional exposure to high stress work environments.
- Regular and/or frequent on-call availability; nature of work frequently requires irregular, unpredictable or particularly long hours.
- Intermediate experience in City Works or other CMMS software
- Must be able to work in all Milwaukee County facilities including detention/high-security facilities and work in areas with sensitive information and assets.
Licenses / Certifications Required -
- Completion of a State of Wisconsin recognized Plumbing Apprenticeship
- State of Wisconsin Journeyman or Master Plumber License
- WI DSPS Cross Connection Device Tester Credential
