Position Summary:
PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) Technician is responsible for designing, programming, maintaining, and troubleshooting PLC systems used in industrial automation and control processes. Ensuring the efficient and safe operation of manufacturing and production systems.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
- Develop and maintain PLC programs for machinery and automation systems.
- Collaborate on control system design and hardware selection.
- Test, troubleshoot, and debug PLC programs, ensuring reliable operation.
- Implement safety protocols and standards in PLC systems.
- Maintain detailed documentation of PLC configurations and changes.
- Perform routine maintenance and upgrades on PLC systems.
- Wire and program electrical drives
- Explore, evaluate, and provide costing for electrical opportunities and projects
- Oversee outside contractors when working on NWH projects
- Other duties as assigned
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, IT, Computer Science, or related field
- 3 years of experience with PLC
- Basic knowledge about PLC (Programmable Logic Controller)
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment
- Have a great aptitude for hardware and technology
- Highly self-motivated in problem solving
- Comfortable making recommendations without being the final decision maker
- Demonstrate excellent collaboration, communication, and multitask skills
- Knowledge of industrial automation and safety standards.
- Experience in installing and repairing electrical systems in industrial spaces
Preferred Qualifications:
- 8 of years of experience with PLC
- Proficiency in PLC programming languages
- Strong knowledge of databases, networks, hardware, and software
- Proficiency in project management and technical writing
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities and analytical thinking
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Electrical maintenance and electrical issues troubleshooting experience
Travel:
- Up to 50% travel (to multiple plant locations in the United States)
