About this position:
Job Title: Production Associate
Job Summary:
You'll start out by learning a variety of operations from operating an Injection Molding press to light assembly work.
Our high mix/low volume business model means that you will be doing similar tasks every day, but you won't be doing exactly the same thing over and over.
Job Skill Requirements
- Punctuality and Good Attendance
- Ability to follow verbal instructions
- Ability to read and follow basic visual/written work instructions
- Ability to determine slight differences in color and other visual blemishes (molding defects)
- Ability to keep count accurately
- Excellent attention to detail
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for an entire shift (8-10 hrs / day)
- Stamina to work all assigned hours
- Regular use of hands (100% of time)
- Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 40 lbs)
- Hearing and speaking required 100% of the workday
- No restrictions on twisting and bending (to move product)
- Ability to work in a shop environment frequent exposure to loud noises, dust, solvents, and oils
- Vision 20/40 with or without correction
- Frequent reaching, climbing, stooping, kneeling and crouching
Job Responsibilities
- Uphold and comply with Demgy Chicago's Code of Ethics and Conduct
- Follow safety policies
- Operate molding presses and other machinery in the production department
- Light Assembly as needed
- Follow written and visual instructions
- Follow work order parameters, and/or parameters given by the supervisor or setup technician
- Visually inspect parts for defects and separate from production run
- Keep track of and accurately report scrap at the end of shift
- Trim excess plastic from parts as needed and otherwise prepare product for packaging
- Pack parts for shipment according to instruction
- Instruct reliever on product requirements / molding requirements for each run
- Minimum Acceptable Efficiency Rate (within first 90 days): 90%
- Keep work area clean and organized
- Maintain a positive working relationship with co-workers in all departments
- Document job hours, ISO documentation, etc
- Follow policies outlined in the Employee Handbook
- Perform other duties as directed by the supervisor
