MACHINE OPERATOR
Maxon Plastics, Inc. is a small, family-owned plastics Injection Molding company looking for machine operator. The primary responsibility is completing the molding machine production and maintenance of the equipment.
Essential Functions
- Perform mold set-up and adjustment on molding and production equipment, equipment troubleshooting and repairs, preventative maintenance, material quality checks, material handling, emptying machine hoppers, and operator instructions.
- Maintain equipment's proper operation to include verifying set-up parameters of process and quality monitors as well as condition of machine; periodically checking machine cycle time to verify yields are met, daily quality of parts and overall consistency of product.
- Perform other production functions such as machine operation, operator relief, shipping (building and wrapping skids).
- Follow all safety and security guidelines.
- Ensure comprehensive and complete communication with operations manager as relates to production status, labor, quality, and maintenance.

- Load inserts and unload parts as needed.
- Remove excess flash from part.
- Package and label products appropriately.
- Remove and dispose of scrap as instructed.
- Maintains clean work area.
- Identify products leaving each applicable work center per available resources.
- Positions and secures product in holding device or fixtures for drilling, tapping, milling or any other fixturing operations.
- Assemble components to produce finished products.
- Notifies manager if they have more than 5 pieces of scrap in any given hour.
- Required to be at work station once given your job assignment.
- Read and understand work instructions.
- May be required to maintain production from multiple machines.
Required
- Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in Injection Molded plastics.
- Ability to resolve maintenance/manufacturing requirements both through management direction and independent process analysis.
- Must process good communication/interpersonal skills, good visual skills for accessing functionality of equipment, above basic mathematical skills and reasoning ability.
- Must be able to work Monday through Friday 7:00am until 3:30pm.
Preferred
- Able to lift 55 pounds occasionally.
- Able to remain stationary for extended length of time, typically one hour.
- Constantly operate production equipment.
- Must have dexterity to inspect the quality of Plastic Injection Molds.
