Job Description:
ThePlant Manager directs and manages all plant operations, including overall responsibility for production, maintenance, safety, quality and warehouse operations. This leader will also drive continuous improvement in the operations by applying the principles of LEAN manufacturing to production and warehouse processes.
Job Responsibilities:
- Directs and manages plant operations for production, maintenance, safety, quality, and shipping departments.
- Drives continuous improvement projects and KAIZEN activity by engaging the employees and implementing new processes to enhance operating performance.
- Coordinates plant activities through planning with departmental managers to ensure that the total manufacturing objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Implements cost effective systems of control over expenses, capital, expenditures, manpower, wages and salaries.
- Establishes and monitors overall plant performance for key metrics such as On Time Delivery, production efficiency, safety and quality.
- Maintains and /or upgrades existing plant facilities and equipment including the replacement of, or adjustments to plant facilities and equipment when necessary.
- Implements and maintains preventative maintenance programs.
- Provides direction, development, and leadership to subordinates.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Engineering or a related field and five years of plant/general management experience.
- Working knowledge of budgets and financial statements.
- Thorough knowledge of safety laws and regulations.
- Experience with best practices / LEAN manufacturing /Six-Sigma training and / or certification in these areas.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
