Expectations & Requirements:

  • This role is: Direct-hire, Full-Time, Exempt
  • Comp Package: Competitive Health Benefits, Bonus: 25% 79k LTI, Re-location Package Provided if Needed (Package depends on what is needed - could be a "hiring bonus " or go through a Relo company), Competitive PTO, etc.
  • Holdrege, NE location (100% Onsite)
  • Reports to: VP of Manufacturing
  • Travel: Very minimal. (Maybe 1 or 2 short trips per year to New Jersey)
  • Relocation Assistance is available. (However, sponsorship is not provided by embecta must be a US Citizen)
  • Targeting 5 years of experience, currently holding a Plant Manager role. embecta will NOT accept under 3 years.
  • This person needs to be responsible for currently managing a similar size number of workers and size of company structure/facility.
  • Responsibility of site will be 500 employees (With approximately 9 direct reports) - - 250 employees is the threshold when searching but they would like to see people currently at that 500 headcount.
  • Bachelor's degree is REQUIRED NO EXCEPTIONS. (Preferred in Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering but will be open.)
  • The manufacturing site is plastic injection mold. (64 plastic molding machines, 16 assembly lines and approximately 3 assemblers per molding machine) That experience is needed.
  • Profile:
  • This individual needs to have experience with delicately, yet successfully driving positive change as a LEADER in the organization. (*There has been several org changes at this site and they need someone with a collaborative and innovative mindset)
  • They are looking for an INNOVATIVE LEADER that will get employees onboard and accepting of change.
  • embecta needs a Leader that does not force people to believe in a new culture or to abide by what is being preached, but to identify a person that employees truly believe in what this leader is saying and choose to support and to follow.
  • This person needs to have an open mind with other leaders. (There are several new heads to each of the departments so they need to be willing to work and come up with strategies together)
  • They need to have proven experience and examples of them being with a recent company that went through major changes and how they successfully lead and carries out the positive changes that lead to success. (Examples are huge and needed)

  • Experience is HIGHLY preferred to be in the medical device industry. However, the second choice would be in the automotive industry due to the criteria of regulations. Food industry would be the third choice.

embecta is looking for a Plant Director in Holdrege, NE. The Plant Director is responsible for the total operation of the Holdrege plant, which includes providing guidance and direction to all departments so that the P&L is positively managed and production schedules are met at or below budgeted cost, all while producing in accordance with established specifications and maintaining or improving product quality.

The incumbent will establish and maintain meaningful communications with all levels of plant and corporate personnel in order to effectively meet budgets and forecasts. They will progress the professional development of key managers in the facility and develop and execute a site manufacturing strategy.

The Holdrege Plant Director is a member of the Manufacturing Leadership Team, reporting directly to the Vice President of Manufacturing.
