Placement Finding Specialist

The Placement Finding Specialistcollaborates with case managers to assess and address the placement needs of youth.

The Placement Finding Specialist conducts comprehensive searches for placements tailored to each youth's requirements, ensuring a focus on maintaining sibling groups and community ties while minimizing placement changes.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in human behavioral science which should include 30 semester or 45 quarter hours either in development of human behavior, child development, family intervention techniques, diagnostic measures, or therapeutic techniques, such as social work, psychology, sociology, guidance and counseling, and child development.
• 1-2 years of experience working with children and families in a trauma informed environment

Preferred Education:

• Master’s degree in social work, human services, education, counseling, psychology, or criminal justice.

Qualifications:

• Have a valid driver’s license and proof of current auto insurance.
• Ability to follow Agency policies, Resource Development contract requirements, home licensing requirements, and accreditation requirements.
• Perform all job duties in a manner which demonstrates a commitment to Sanctuary values and practices.
• Demonstrates awareness and understanding of cultural and ethnic diversity of clients, staff, and other community partners.
• Strong phone etiquette and a commitment to excellence in customer service.
• Organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Calm in their approach to unexpected emergency work.
• Ability to work collaboratively and have functional transitions of referrals to and from team members in Licensing is essential for success in this position.

Job Duties:

• The Placement Finding Specialist receives information about youth from case managers and assesses, in conjunction with the case manager, the youth’s placement needs.
• Specialists then utilize available technology to conduct a search for placements that would match the youth’s needs, discuss placement needs with prospective placements and then provide placement options to the youth’s case manager.
• The Placement Finding Specialist must develop and maintain strong relationships with placement options, case managers and internal program staff to effectively carry out their responsibilities. The Placement Finding Specialist will work on cases by priority level and support all agencies in the consortium statewide.
• Other duties as required for the betterment of KVC.
