Pipefitter Job Summary
We have an immediate opening for a skilled Pipefitter. You will be responsible for fabricating, installing, and repairing piping, fixtures, and other fluid system structures. We work with both industrial and commercial clients, so you must be familiar with both types of systems. After installation, you will inspect and test each piping section to ensure there are no leaks and the piping is secure. Our ideal candidate has at least one year of professional experience. Carbon and Stainless Steel Pipe Welding Certs are a plus.
Pipefitter Duties and Responsibilities
- Review the project to understand the scope and timeline
- Measure sections and order materials needed
- Cut, bend, and weld metals such as carbon and stainless steel to specifications
- Install piping or tubing segments securely with welding or other equipment
- Perform trial runs and tests on pipe systems to ensure there are no leaks or weak points
- Repair and reinforce broken, cracked, or inadequate systems or pipes
Pipefitter Requirements and Qualifications
- High school degree or equivalent
- Completion of vocational school programs or trade apprenticeship
- OSHA & TWIC Card - May or may not be needed
- Current state pipefitter license
- Pass a drug screening as well as a pipefitter test
- 1-3+ years of experience as a pipefitter preferred
- Proficient with manual and power tools
- Attention to detail
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal building code regulations with regard to piping systems
