Physical Therapy Aides/Techs can work in several areas of the facility or clinic combining patient care and clerical responsibilities. The Physical Therapy Tech is responsible for assisting physical therapists with patient care, non-clinical tasks while caring for individuals. Physical Therapy Techs may assist the therapists with helping move patients, providing equipment, and keeping treatment areas organized and clean. Physical Therapy Aides may also fulfill office and clerical duties, such as ordering supplies, answering phone calls, taking appointments, calling patients, and helping complete and file insurance paperwork.
Also, the position will require cross-training with a Business Office Assistant (on an as needed basis) to assist in a variety of administrative functions and patient care activities such as checking-in/out patients, preparing the office, collecting co-payments, verifying insurance and assisting clinical staff to provide support for the efficient delivery of patient care. Assisting the Business Office Assistant will include chart activity maintenance: review for accuracy, prepare chart for next day services, review for completeness. Also, will assist in collecting co-pays; post payments; prepare daily cashiers report and balance sheets; prepare/review daily bank deposits and reports.
