Job Description:

The Physical Therapy Assistant assists in the implementation of the rehabilitative care plan under the direction and supervision of a qualified physical therapist.

Qualifications:

· Graduate of an approved Physical Therapy Assistant curriculum.

· Possesses a current license to practice as a Physical Therapy Assistant in Ohio.

Responsibilities:

· Under the supervision of the physical therapist, assists in evaluation and development of the rehabilitative care plan and in periodic re-evaluation as indicated.

· As directed by the physical therapist, performs routine strengthening and therapeutic exercises.

· Assists in teaching exercise programs to the client and family.

· Consults with the physical therapist regarding the outcome of home visits and reports physical findings in written form.

· Assists clients in use of self-help devices.

· Attends care conferences and Agency meetings as necessary.

· Documents daily progress notes on clients and submits them weekly.

· Communicates effectively to all those providing client care.

Organizational Relationship:

· Reports directly to the supervising physical therapist.

Functional Abilities:

• Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing in a manner understood by most persons.
• Must be able to stoop, bend and be able to lift and transfer clients.
• Must be able to travel to client’s residences.
• Must be able to read 12 point type or larger.

Special requirements:

· Must have a reliable car, car insurance and a valid driver’s license.

Job Type: Full-time (Part-time and PRN opportunities are also available)

Salary: $40.00 per visit plus incentive opportunities.
