We are seeking to hire a ADS-Automated Dispensing Machine Technician to work for our Cheshire, CT location.
Salary: Contingent with experience.
Job Summary:
The ADS Technician is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the pharmacys automated dispensing systems. Technician provides user support, performs maintenance activities and troubleshooting, and monitors proper functionality and use of the system. The Technician will coordinate, be required to travel to troubleshoot hardware issues on site with phone support. Does related work, as required by Pharmacists and managers in charge.
- Address any issues with IT to make sure connections are sustained for all machines to ensure proper communication of patient info and ADS machine.
- Complete daily restocks.
- Responsible for all in-services with printed step-by-step guides to train nurses onsite
- Audit all ADS machines monthly with visitations to make sure all drawers, medications and expiration dates are correct.
- Review and work with DNS to remove any control drug discrepancies to prevent diversion and keep counts correct.
- Verify all medications sent on previous delivery are correctly entered into machines and are not sent as a duplicate.
- Work Order Entry to ensure all reports and medications are sent each day and entered correctly into the current batch.
- Assist DNS to add new medication requests into ADS machine with Director/Pharmacist in charge of approval.
- Travel to fix and troubleshoot hardware issues on site with phone support.
- Pack, check, and tote batches, if short staffed for ADS audits.
- Work with facility on ADS optimization project to decide what can be removed/ replaced to lower STAT runs/ cut cost on unused medications.
- Prepare and process state applications for dispensing machine.
