Position Summary:
The Pharmaceutical Sales, Field Specialist represents the pharmacy in the field by establishing relationships with clinics who are identified as potential customers, while also providing education and ongoing support to assigned accounts. This role identifies and qualifies leads within their assigned territory. The Pharmaceutical Sales, Field Specialist maintains communications with potential accounts (leads) with the goal of establishing them as active accounts, in addition to tracking and managing all identified current accounts assigned to them.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Visits physicians’ offices, clinics, and other healthcare facilities with the goal of promoting services in assigned territory.
  • Builds and maintains strong relationships with healthcare professionals, physicians, clinics, institutions, and other decision-makers within assigned territory to promote the Company’s products effectively and generate new business opportunities.
  • Creates and executes a strategic plan for assigned territory, identify key healthcare professionals, physicians, clinics, institutions, and other decision-makers to grow wallet share of compounded prescription volume within assigned territory.
  • Executes a sales travel strategy that enhances time management both during travel and client meetings, while also maximizing the (ROI) for each trip.
  • Utilizes CRM (Customer Relationship Management) to report on and document all communication with all potential or current key healthcare professionals, physicians, clinics, institutions, and other decision-makers.
  • Keeps abreast of product applications, clinical journals/publications, market conditions, and competitive activities through pertinent literature.
  • Maintains updated daily phone and email communication logs on activity and in CRM to ensure overall goals (KPIs) are met.
  • Attends conferences to leverage networking opportunities, enhance product knowledge, and expand the Company’s market presence to drive revenue growth and build lasting client relationships.
  • Follows up with assigned accounts to provide any needed assistance and to resolve any service complaints.
  • Delivers compelling and informative sales presentations to key healthcare professionals, physicians, clinics, institutions, and other decision-makers to highlight the value and benefits of using the Company. Tailors’ presentations to meet the specific needs and interests of each client.
  • Manages the Sales Pipeline within the CRM system to establish product and monthly volumes for the designated clinics.
  • Documents all communications related to each opportunity, starting from the initial engagement, and progressing through to its successful completion.
  • Obtains and analyzes pricing to determine the best possible advantage for the customer and the company based on company policy.
  • Serves as a communication liaison between assigned accounts and the company, utilizing internal resources as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to talk and hear. The employee is regularly required to move about the office, around the corporate campus, and travel up to a minimum of 25% of the time. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision.

Knowledge and Skills:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and CRM platforms.
  • Must possess superior time management skills and maintain above average punctuality.
  • Must be well-groomed and able to adhere to the company dress code.
  • Ability to interact with clinical department administration, management, and diverse client groups.
  • Ability to engage professionally with small and large groups, speak clearly, and provide accurate information with proper pronunciation of terminology.
  • Must possess aptitude for comprehension and retention of knowledge pertaining to catalog products.
  • Willingness to work collaboratively and demonstrate effective teamwork while working directly with other members of the sales department.
  • Ability to work independently and manage work tasks effectively.
  • Ability to complete work both remotely and in the field.
  • Must be detail oriented and possess a high level of accuracy.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to independently maintain a schedule and quickly adapt to schedule changes.
  • Aptitude for the use of technology to maximize efficiency in the field. This includes using assigned equipment for digital presentations, email access, digital references, and data access.
  • Ability to prioritize work and meet sales goals.
  • Must be a self-starter and results driven.
  • Must possess problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Sensitivity to confidential documents and information.
  • Strong adherence to state and federal regulations, pharmacy protocol, and the sales department code of conduct.
  • Completes all work with honesty, integrity, and the highest level of professionalism.
  • Must be able to travel a minimum of 25% of the time, including occasional weekend events.

Experience and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or Medical/Pharmacy certification (RN, PhT, LPN, etc.).
  • Minimum 5+ years' experience in pharmaceutical, nutritional supplement, and/or medical sales preferred.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and adequate transportation.
