The opportunity
This role supports Environmental Health, Safety, and Sustainability programs within the Cincinnati facility. The individual in this role will be helping with developing, planning, and executing Industrial Hygiene and Occupational Health Programs.
How you’ll spend your day
• Helping with the following programs:
o Employee Exposure Prevention,
o Respiratory Protection,
o Hearing Conservation,
o Occupational Health and Medical Surveillance,
o Ergonomics,
o Personal Protective Equipment,
o Radioactive Materials,
o Biorisk management,
o Laboratory Safety.
• Develop Occupational Hygiene Monitoring Strategy and Plan.
• Perform IH Monitoring, samplings, analyses for active pharmaceutical ingredients, chemicals, noise, vibration, and over exposures.
• Document the monitoring; correlate the new monitoring results with the historical data.
• Develop remediation plan designed to eliminate or reduce employees exposure through a hierarchy of control (elimination, substitution, redesign, engineering control, administrative control, PPE).
• Perform PPE assessment and revise PPE Matrix.
• Check the implementation of the abovementioned programs.
• Helping with periodic Medical Surveillance, fit-to-work (when required).
• Work with departments to ensure that adequate PPE are supplied and available for employees.
• Perform hazard identification and risk assessments, JHA, JSA
Your experience and qualifications
• Current student at EHS related program (safety, IH, environment), or other related field (i.e. engineering, chemistry).
• Experience in performing IH monitoring.
• Pharmaceutical and/or GMP experience a plus.
• Ability to wear PPE (respirators, safety glasses, gloves, and others)
• Ability to take initiative and adapt to frequently changing priorities with excellent judgement
• Capacity to communicate well through all levels of the organization (production floor through management)
• Working well with others in all functional departments.
