Maintenance Assistant Qualifications:
Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on equipment, supplies, buildings and grounds in a cost-efficient manner.
- Maintain the building in good repair and keep free of hazards such as those caused by electrical, plumbing, heating, and cooling systems.
- Maintain the building in compliance with regulatory guidelines.
- Pick up work order requests daily and establish work priority in absence of Director.
- Perform monthly maintenance checks of the building, grounds, and facilities. Conducts rounds.
- Maintain and test the emergency power system to ensure availability of power to all entrances, exits, fire detection alarms, and extinguishing equipment, and life support systems.
- Maintain all essential equipment (e.g., boiler room equipment, nursing unit/medication room refrigerators, kitchen refrigerators and freezers, etc.) in a safe operating condition.
- Perform routine maintenance and repair work, such as painting, minor carpentry, repair work, changing light bulbs, and various other routine maintenance tasks.
- Coordinate maintenance work with other departments.
- Keep the grounds looking neat and cared for by mowing and trimming the grass as needed, trimming the bushes and trees, keeping the leaves and litter picked up, the sidewalks clear of debris, and any erosion challenges under control as needed.
- Be on-call to support facility during emergencies/inclement weather situations. May be required to respond to critical issues on a 24/7 basis.
