Personal Care Assistant - PCA
A Personal Care Assistant assist in a client’s home. They will visit the client every weekend in a part-time position. Personal Care Aides help with a variety of tasks, including, light housekeeping, assist with bathing, preparing meals or run small errands. They work with many types of clients, including those with mental or physical disabilities.
Duties:
-Will assist with multiple clients; No more than two clients
- Provide Personal Care assistance to residents in an assisted living or home setting.
- Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Administer medications according to prescribed schedules and document medication administration accurately.
- Assist with mobility and transfers, including using proper lifting techniques for heavy lifting.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to residents.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for residents.
Requirements:
- Experience in senior care, particularly in dementia care, is preferred.
- Must have a valid first aid certification.
- Knowledge of medication administration protocols and procedures.
- Ability to provide compassionate care to residents with varying needs and abilities.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with residents, their families, and the healthcare team.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and assist with transfers as needed.
- Familiarity with assisted living or nursing home regulations and standards.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 35 per week
