What The Role IsReporting to the Director of Asset Management, the Senior Manager will be responsible for financial and commercial management of distributed and community solar projects located across the United States. Asset Management serves as the owner's representative ensuring that budget control, value optimization, and risk mitigation is performed during the entire operational lifecycle of a project. The Senior Manager of Asset Management will support strategic growth priorities, strengthen Clearway's project execution model, and work with their team to maximize the value of assets and manage compliance with project agreements and incentive programs. The Senior Manager will work closely with internal Clearway teams, build trusted relationships with financial partners, and provide coaching and mentoring to staff members. Location is Scottsdale, AZ, San Francisco, CA or Carlsbad, CA. What You'll Be DoingFinancial & Commercial Management:Responsible for the management of P&L and cash positions, ensuring that project budgets are developed with prudent assumptions for revenues, expenses, and capital expenditures.Advance strategies to improve operational and financial performance and protect long-term value.Direct teams to respond to regulatory, policy or market changes that would adversely impact project economics.Collaborate with internal teams to support plant optimization and performance improvement, warranty claims, insurance claims, and revenue recovery.Initiate and support divestitures, capital investment, refinance, and revenue enhancement proposals.Responsible for compliance with project and partnership agreements, ensuring that all obligations and interests are successfully administered within Asset Management or other teams.Establish trusted relationships with customers, partners or joint asset owners, ISOs, and regulatory agencies.Manage commercial issues and associated strategies to resolution with counterparties, including mediation or litigation.Negotiate or amend contracts to improve asset performance and mitigate risk.Project Execution:Develop and execute best practices and procedures for project commercial readiness and integration intoClearway's mid and back-office functions.Maintain organizational focus on year 1 project performance metrics and advance revenue or cost-focused strategies where necessary to minimize economic shortfalls.Strengthen Clearway's internal project execution model from early M&A and development stages through year 1 performance.Strategic Initiatives:Support the advancement of Clearway's strategic growth plan, ensuring that project evaluations, reviews, and due diligence are executed with a high degree of quality and consistency.Provide recommendations, analysis, and data in support of acquisitions, divestitures, capital improvements or refinancing.Support corporate initiatives to strengthen enterprise-wide processes and/or systems.Assist in the development and implementation of information-sharing platforms and work management systems.Maintain confidentiality & sensitivity with respect to all functions of DEI.What You'll BringBachelor's degree in Engineering, Finance, Business, Economics, or related field.5+ years of energy industry experience in a project development, project administration, business administration, project management, Asset Management, contract administration, deal execution, project finance or other commercial role.Experience working in renewable energy industry is required.Strong business and financial savvy with the ability to support a high-performance organization.Ability to formulate and articulate viewpoints (written and verbal) in a clear, persuasive, and succinct manner.Ability to handle multiple concurrent efforts and provide high-quality deliverables accurately and on time.Ability to work well in a fast-paced, team-oriented, collaborative environment that emphasizes attention to detail, meeting deadlines and working together to achieve company-wide objectives.Demonstrated self-starter with a growth mindset.Strong interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills.Understanding of renewable financial models and the full capital stack (tax equity, debt, and cash equity).Ability to read complex agreements to analyze and identify obligations and risk.Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.What Would Be NiceMBA or CPA is highly desirableIf you don't meet 100% of the above qualifications but see yourself contributing, please submit your resumeClearway will not sponsor nonimmigrant visas for this position (H-1B, TN, E-3, etc.).What We'll BringAbout Clearway Energy GroupClearway Energy Group is leading the transition to a world powered by clean energy. The pay rate for the successful candidate will depend on geographic location, skills, relevant and demonstrated experience, education, training and certifications, and other factors permitted by law.
