The PI Sales Representative is responsible for introducing Permanently Installed Products (powered platforms, monorail, davits, and other rooftop anchorages) to customer. Includes identifying bid opportunities in new construction and retrofit buildings, arranging completion of bid qualification paperwork, refining scope and pricing for quotes, initiating sales orders, following up on contract and project paperwork, and resolving problems for customers. This position works under the direction of the Permanent Installation Business Unit Manager with dotted line reporting to the National Sales Manager in applicable territories. Required to call on a customer base that may cover several states and develop new customers within that territory. This position requires technical knowledge of the product line and frequent overnight traveling.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Presents Sky Climber's product line to the customer
- Identify and develop business relationships with new customers
- Works with the customer and Sky Climber personnel (Sales/Customer Support/Engineering/Project Management) to identify standard and alternative solutions, refine scope, and resolve customer problems and equipment needs
- Represents the company at various industry functions and meetings
- Recommends advertising promotions and strategies
- Prepare for and attend regular company sales meetings
- Other duties, responsibilities and special projects as assigned by the Sales or Business Unit Manager
- Implement the marketing and sales plan for Sky Climber.
- Remain a competent professional PI Sales Representative capable of meeting established goals in a timely and efficient manner
- Utilize problem identification and resolution systems
- To keep the VP of Sales and Marketing and other senior management staff informed through timely utilization of verbal and written reports.
- Represents Sky Climber at public relations activities and other external functions.
- Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this job.
- Consistently meet or exceed budgeted target sales goals.
- Bachelor's Degree in Business or Engineering preferred
- Previous sales experience required, manufacturing industry strongly desired
- Ability to analyze sales data and opportunity cost of projects
- Good communications, organizational skills, integrity and ability to work with others
- Must be able to work flexible hours as needed; travel is frequent
- Maintain driving record acceptable to Sky Climber's insurance carrier
