People & Culture Coordinator | Columbia Hospitality Residential Services
The People & Culture Coordinator is our version of an air traffic controller. This person is the face of our department; responsible for supporting all administrative functions of the People & Culture team while providing stellar customer service directly to team members employed at our properties. This is a highly administrative position that requires skills MS Office. The ideal candidate is a wizard at juggling emails, phone calls and balancing a variety of tasks/systems. The role will report to the Manager of People & Culture and support business leaders within our residential portfolio, have a strong solution-orientation and thrive in a fast paced, but amazingly rewarding, fun environment. What you'll do:
The Brass Tacks
  • Respond to all team members' voicemails and emails in a timely fashion
  • Responds to unemployment claims as needed
  • Supports onboarding activities for new team members at the Seattle Support Center and onsite at residential properties.
  • Draft communication materials as requested by P&C leadership
  • Assist setting up meetings and appointments for residential leadership
  • Responsible for daily, weekly and monthly reports for P&C
  • Support legal compliance initiatives and maintain appropriate records including monitoring completion of background checks and I-9 documents.
  • Conduct data analysis and recommend actions to take to achieve goals
  • Provide guidance and consultation to departments on appropriate P&C practices
  • Manage assigned projects from beginning to completion
  • Assist with team member engagement surveys and recognition activities
  • Support property leaders with admin tasks related to our HRIS (Dayforce)
  • Support recruitment efforts of residential team including scheduling interviews, conducting phone screens, and referring candidates to alternate open roles.
  • Provide support to all functions within the department
  • Supports long term strategies to enhance P&C service levels
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

The Nitty Gritty
  • Excellent Customer Service Skills
  • Strong computer skills. Must be proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Working knowledge of all applicable HR laws, codes, and regulations
  • Works well in both team oriented and autonomous environments
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment, integrity and professionalism in all transactions, including communicating and working with confidential and sensitive information
  • Ability to produce high quality work, be flexible, prioritize business demands, anticipate needs, be proactive, and take initiative
  • This role operates on a hybrid schedule, with 3 days in office - located in Seattle.
