Hastings Mutual is currently looking for a PC Technician to join its IT Support & Operations Team! This is a great opportunity for a junior-level individual to be a key member in providing device support and configuration services to our employee end-users.
Position Overview
The PC Technician supports standard personal computer hardware, related hardware assemblies, and peripherals. They support standard PC operating systems and application software. This includes installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading all hardware and equipment while ensuring optimal workstation performance. The position also troubleshoots problem areas in a timely and accurate fashion and provides end user training and assistance where required.
Position Location & Work Format
- This is a full-time, non-exempt (hourly) position, typically working Monday - Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- Given the nature of this role's work, the employees must be able to work at our Hastings, Michigan corporate headquarters on a daily basis.
Position Duties & Responsibilities
- Provides technical support on all hardware and software.
- Installs, configures, maintains, and troubleshoots standard Personal Computer, end user workstation hardware, and related equipment.
- Performs onsite analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of complex PC problems for a variety of end users.
- Receives and responds to incoming tickets and communicates with ticket submitters effectively.
- Imaging and preparation of laptop and desktops.
- Tracks equipment inventory and request purchases as needed.
- When requested, acts as liaison between user and vendor, in the selection, installation, maintenance, and problem resolution for non-standard hardware and software.
- Fills in on the Help Desk as needed.
- Is available for on-call phone support after hours, as scheduled.
- Stays abreast of trends in current technologies.
- Maintains knowledge of system upgrades and developments.
- Maintains procedure documentation.
- Actively participates in professional development, i.e., continuing education or self-improvement.
- Other duties as assigned by leadership, either verbally or in writing.
Candidate Requirements and Qualifications
- Associates degree or equivalent work experience of one-year minimum working with PC hardware and software.
- Comp A+ certification preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to coordinate activities, analyze situations, and solve problems while providing excellent customer service.
- Good understanding of computer equipment, and software, including laptops, and printers.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
