Job Summary:
Assigned to GUA Claims Division to assist customers, agents, adjusters, and the public. Receives first notice of loss for the Claims Department and assists in setting up claim files. Communicates with insureds and agents to provide claim status information. Performs clerical duties for the Department.
This Position Reports to:
The Claims Director. Has no supervisory authority or responsibilities.
Location:
Suwanee, Georgia (Gwinnett County). This is a fulltime (37.5 hrs./week) position.
Qualifications:
A high school diploma or the equivalent required. Previous training or experience processing property and casualty Insurance Claims is desired. Must be proficient in the use of computers. The ability to deal effectively and diplomatically with people is essential. Regular and prompt attendance is required.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Receives and records first notice of loss (i.e., report of a claim)
- Contacts insureds and/or agents for additional information if needed.
- Verifies coverage on reported claims.
- Establishes files, records required information, and completes correspondence on claims when required.
- Answers basic questions from agents and/or insureds.
- Monitors calls taken and notes made by additional customer service staff.
- Adheres to GUA Catastrophic Event Plan (hurricane, tornado, severe wether) when implemented.
- Maintains initial claim input into Insurance Services Office (ISO) database.
- Monitors the status of open claims to assure claims are being handled on a timely basis, contacting adjusters for updates as necessary.
- Monitors and maintains the GUA Claims Department email.
- Completes the monthly CLUE (Comprehensive Loss Underwriting Exchange) reporting.
- All other duties as assigned by manager.
Salary/Benefits:
Salary will be assigned commiserate with experience. Bonus pool available to all fulltime employees. Benefits include health insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, 401-k with company match up to 6%.
