Responsibilities:
- Process payroll for employees accurately and on time
- Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
- Prepare and distribute paychecks or direct deposits to employees
- Calculate and process payroll deductions, including taxes, benefits, and garnishments
- Reconcile payroll discrepancies and resolve any issues or errors
- Generate reports on payroll expenses, hours worked, and other relevant data
- Collaborate with HR to ensure accurate employee data and resolve any discrepancies
- Stay up-to-date with payroll laws and regulations to ensure compliance
- Other duties assigned
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of corporate accounting principles and practices
- Proficient in 10-key typing for data entry accuracy and efficiency
- Experience using payroll software such as Kronos or Workday
- Familiarity with accounts receivable processes and procedures
- Excellent payroll management skills, including the ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make recommendations for process improvements
- Knowledge of journal entries, debits, credits, and general ledger reconciliation
- Previous experience as a payroll clerk or similar role is preferred
