What You'll Do
We are currently seeking a Payroll Specialist. This role will support all Amer Sports team members across the U.S. consisting of multiple brands and various locations (warehouse, factories, retail stores and various offices).
The Payroll Specialist will provide support under a shared services model. As part of a team, this role will help ensure payroll and other HR processes run smoothly and efficiently. The Specialist will assist in the preparation of payroll processing with our third-party provider. This role will also respond to team member inquiries related to payroll and timekeeping. The Specialist must be able to multi-task and juggle competing priorities in our busy department. Specific duties may include:
Payroll / Timekeeping
- Act as liaison with payroll partner ensuring the timely processing of weekly and bi-weekly payrolls; act as backup to lead
- Review timecards prior to payroll processing to ensure accurate pay; import timecard information
- Run weekly Workday reports in preparation for payroll processing
- Review computed wages and taxes to ensure the accuracy of earnings
- Process timely manual payments as needed
- Work within the Kronos timekeeping system: set up new hires or temps, program accrual rates & holidays and assist with general issue resolution
- Work with the team to develop processes and recommend changes to remain compliant and increase efficiencies
- Liaison with other locations to gain a full understanding of practices and business needs, develop relationships and provide strong customer service
- Ensure the resolution of payroll processing issues in a timely manner and provide recommendations to prevent future issues by pro-actively analyzing the root cause
HR Shared Services
- Respond in a timely manner to team member questions via the HRSS ticketing system and/or phone
- Possess a broad knowledge of payroll and timekeeping, and general HR related topics to respond to team member inquiries; demonstrate initiative in seeking answers to new inquiries - topics include, but are not limited to: payroll, timekeeping, health and retirement plans, policy interpretation and general HR processes
What We're Looking For
Qualified candidates should have a bachelor’s degree in business, or a related field. We are seeking an individual with 5+ years experience processing full cycle, multi-state payroll along with prior experience with timekeeping systems (Kronos/ADP eTime).
Candidates should demonstrate a strong customer service attitude, sense of urgency and be organized with strong attention to detail and understanding of the importance of accuracy. Other qualifications include:
- Ability to identify areas that require improvement or are at risk, and pro-actively make suggestions to always gain efficiencie
- Hands-on, proactive approach; flexible and adaptable in a fast-moving, results-oriented work environment
- Fast learner with the ability to adapt to a fast-paced growing organization; inquisitive & not afraid to ask questions
- Knowledge and understanding of payroll laws, payroll tax, and wage garnishments
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills; ability to communicate and work effectively with team members across the region - a professional, positive attitude is a must
- Ability to balance multiple and/or changing priorities, and meet deadlines
- Proven experience handing sensitive and confidential information
- Proficiency in MS Office and a demonstrated technical aptitude
- Experience with ADP payroll is a must (and preferably EV5)
- Ability to work standard 9:00 to 5:00 hours to ensure coverage for region
- General HR experience on topics such as benefits, retirement plans and best practices is a plus
