Job description

Summary/Objective
Under supervision of the Human Resource Manager, the HR Benefits and Payroll Specialist administers the development, implementation and monitoring relating to the company payroll, benefits and HRIS processing.
Essential Functions

  1. Payroll Administration
    1. Process payroll for employees in the organization
    2. Maintains all payroll operations according to company policies and procedures
    3. Prepares statistical summaries and reports from HRIS involving payroll information, performance management and other employee data.
    4. Process and monitor garnishment orders and other issues that impact payroll specifications.
    5. Maintain confidentiality of staff and customer information.
    6. Address issues and questions regarding payroll from employees.
  1. HR Administration
    1. Maintains complete electronic employee personnel files, records and other documentation for employees, including processing new employees, forms for employment status changes and maintaining timely and accurate files. Coordinates pre-employment paperwork and process.
    2. Generates reports such as the EEO1 and other required reporting.
    3. Complete Employment Verification requests in a timely manner.
    4. Benefit Reconciliation
  1. Workforce Planning and Employment
    1. Implementing Open Enrollment.
    2. Implementing 401 K enrollment.
    3. Flex Spending Enrollment
    4. Managing job postings
    5. Complete Onboarding process for all new hires.
    6. Conducting onboarding and Welcome Day Benefit explanations at Orientation.
  1. HRIS Administration
    1. Resolve HRIS issues to ensure the most efficient use of Paylocity.
    2. Resolving employee issues and/or questions regarding benefits, timekeeping and 401K.
  1. HR Development
    1. Evaluating the effectiveness of onboarding processes in Paylocity.
    2. Tracking personnel and benefit stats through HRIS or Excel
    3. Data entry of new hire information into HRIS software.
    4. Data entry of employee benefits information into HRIS/payroll system.
Qualifications:
  • Associate’s degree or equivalent, with some college course work and minimum of two years of job-related experience, in a human resource department; or any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or equivalent, preferred
  • PHR/SPHR or SHRM-SCP certification, preferred
  • Ability to maintain the highly confidential nature of human resource work
  • Ability to remain neutral while maintaining professional work relationships
  • Possess a customer-service mindset to support all employees of the bank
  • Excellent inter-personal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (excel, word, outlook, power point)
  • Excellent time management, organization, and multi-tasking skills
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
  • Serve as a professional representative of PSBT at all times
