Care Synergy has an immediate opening for a Payroll Manager.
Location: Denver, CO
Status: Full-time
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8-5
Pay Range: $87,048 - $108,368 annually
Supplemental Pay: Based on position, schedule and/or availability: Paid Mileage/Stipends/Diffs
Mileage and Expense Reimbursement: Sixty-two and a half cents per mile - one of the highest in the industry!

REWARDING WORK YOU WILL DO:
Responsible for managing the organization's payroll functions and supervising the Payroll Specialist. Performs a broad range of duties, ranging from strategic to administrative; recommends and implements new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvement to meet organizational goals and regulatory compliance. Pays team members timely and accurately. Compiles payroll information by managing payroll preparation. Completes associated payroll filings and reports. Maintains payroll records.
  • Maintains payroll information by designing systems; directs the collection, calculation, and entering of data.
  • Pays approximately 700-800 employees almost exclusively in Colorado accurately and timely; directs the production and issuance of paychecks and/or electronic transfers to bank accounts.
  • Prepares reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability and nontaxable wages.
  • Determines payroll liabilities; approves the calculation of employee federal and state income and social security taxes, employer's social security and unemployment obligations, as well as worker compensation payments.
  • Balances the payroll accounts; resolves payroll discrepancies.
  • Writes and updates payroll policies and procedures accordingly.
  • Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements; understands existing legislation and keeps abreast of new legislation.Enforces adherence to requirements and advises management on needed actions.
  • Participates in continuing education and professional development, organization and community events, and professional associations as required.
  • Provides payroll and timekeeping assistance to managers and staff; timely responds to payroll questions and/or concerns guaranteeing business needs are timely met.
  • Responds to audit inquires regarding payroll.
  • Selects, hires and supervises employees for the payroll department.Trains and coaches employees in an effort to enhance their performance and work product, addresses performance issues and makes recommendations for personnel action.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Understands how payroll impacts the P&L / GL; ability to research month-over-month fluctuations in labor dollars.
  • Books payroll entries into the accounting system each month; reconciles PTO liability into the accounting system.

WHAT WE ARE GOING TO LOVE ABOUT YOU:
  • Minimum Education:
    Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Human Resources preferred, associate degree required.Extensive professional payroll experience in lieu of academic degrees may be considered.
  • Minimum Experience:
    • Five or more years of progressively responsible experience in Human Resources, Accounting, Finance, and/or Payroll.
    • Two or more years of supervisory experience.
    • Advanced Excel skills are required.
    • UKG payroll experience is required.
    • Experience with UKG/UltiPro and UltiPro or Kronos Time Management preferred.
  • Required License:Certified Payroll Profession (CPP) preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability to lift/carry a minimum of 30 lbs.
