Great American Restaurants is seeking a Payroll Coordinatorto join our Support Center team. The Payroll Coordinator will primarily be responsible for working collaboratively with the restaurants to ensure timely and accurate payment of our hourly employees. This position will also provide support in benefit administration and management, reporting and analytics, and internal and external employment requests. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented and have strong hospitality and communication skills as well as the ability to work cross-functionally to deliver results. This full-time salaried position requires a 45-50 hour work week and will be primarily onsite at our office in Fairfax, Virginia. Limited remote work may be earned based on performance.
Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):
- Process bi-weekly hourly payrolls for all locations
- Ensure proper benefit deductions for all hourly employees
- Manage hourly PTO process
- Coordinate the tips disbursements process with the accounting department to ensure hourly tipped employees receive proper daily disbursements
- Complete all hourly employee verification requests
- Ensure accurate and timely onboarding of all hourly new hires and provide onboarding metrics
- Maintain I9’s for all locations
- Track expiration dates for all work authorization documentation and communicate regarding renewals
- Administer garnishments for hourly employees
- Administer the House Card benefit program for all employees
- Reprint employee W2’s or respond to requests for online access as needed
- Reconcile booked insurance remittances following payroll and notify HR of any necessary coverage termination
- Generate staffing levels and turnover reporting on a fiscal period basis and process applicable terminations in the system of record
- Actively coach restaurant managers in payroll-related processes and benefits
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree or 2+ years of relevant work experience; experience in hospitality industry preferred
- Strong administrative and analytical skills
- A strong knowledge of the Microsoft product suite is essential, particularly Excel, and should include the ability to use elevated functionality to analyze data and produce meaningful metrics.
