The Country Club of Virginia is actively searching for an experienced Payroll Administrator to join the Human Resources team and manage the Club's payroll processes. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing while adhering to all relevant regulations and company policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process and manage bi-weekly payroll for 600+ employees accurately and on time, including tips and commissions
- Train managers on processing timesheets for their individual departments
- Research and resolve timesheet errors and payroll discrepancies
- Process and manage garnishments, liens, and child support orders
- Maintain and update payroll records including salary adjustments, bonuses, deductions, and leave
- Create and run payroll reports, both routine and ad hoc
- Address employee inquiries related to payroll and provide necessary support
- Remain current on payroll regulations and compliance requirements
- Respond to employment verification requests
- Collaborate with accounting and finance departments to ensure accuracy and consistency of payroll data
- Interact with managers and supervisors regarding payroll questions, special reporting needs, etc.
- Assist in payroll audits and other related tasks as needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent work experience)
- Proven experience (3+ years) as a Payroll Administrator or similar role in a large company with a significant non-exempt population
- In-depth knowledge of payroll systems and processes
- Strong understanding of the FLSA and other federal, state, and local payroll regulations and laws
- Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., ADP, PayServ/UKG, Paychex, etc.) and MS Office, especially Excel
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity
- Experience communicating and adapting complex topics, based on your audience
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Hospitality industry experience preferred
Schedule
This is a full-time, exempt, on-premise position in Richmond, Virginia. The schedule is typically Monday - Friday, with some exceptions. Some holidays are required, based on the payroll schedule.
