InStride Roberson Foot Care is currently searching for a professional, compassionate, and knowledgeable individual to fill the position of Patient Services Specialist. We are looking for a hard-working individual who can utilize their team-building and communication skills to their fullest. Our ideal candidate will be organized and have the skills necessary to multitask effectively and efficiently. In this important role, the successful applicant will also act as a liaison between our practice and our Central Business Office to assure compliance with all operating procedures. Essential Functions (May perform part or all of the following):
- Greets and registers patients.
- Verifies insurance and demographic information.
- Checks patients in and/or out and makes appointments as indicated.
- Collects co-pays and patient payments.
- Answers phones.
- Answers basic patient billing questions and/or directs to a Revenue Cycle Specialists.
- Monitors and resolves registration errors.
- Completes referrals and authorizations as needed.
- Responsible for tidiness of front office and waiting area.
- Demonstrates working knowledge of E.H.R. system.
- Surgery scheduling.
- Other duties, responsibilities and activities as needed.
- Handling patient complaints and issues in conjunction with physician.
- Marketing and relationship building with local referring providers and the community
- Review accounts receivable reports, oversee cash reconciliation and end of day closing
Physical Requirements
Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time and work in a fast-paced office environment. Should be able to bend and lift up to 20 lbs.
Education, Experience and Certifications
- High School Diploma or GED required. Bachelor's degree
- Knowledge of medical (Podiatry)
- Knowledge of health insurance plans.
- Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office
- Excellent phone manners, communication and customer service experience
- Experience with Electronic Health Records, preferably with CareCloud and/or e-
- Must have a working understanding of OSHA & HIPAA
