Responsibilities:
- Assists in training Patient Service Representatives (PSR) on all issues regarding registration, appointment scheduling and telephone use
- Assists Front Desk Trainer in Maintaining Front Desk Training Manual in procedural updates, changes and providing staff in-service training
- Provides feedback on staff skills for performance reviews, updates on staff issues and consistently report concerns to supervisor
- Verification of patient information and correction in the computer system
- Assists patients in filling out required forms
- Documents no-how and cancelled appointments in Practice Management (PM)
- Cross trains in all functions of the front desk reception area
- Assists in completion of Quality Assurance reports
- Assists the Front Desk Supervisor in managing all quality and in-reaching reports the Front Desk is responsible for as well as tracking its effective use
- Assists Front Desk Supervisor in management of all Front Desk reports including but not limited to recall, no-show and bumped reports. Management to include timely distribution and completion of reports
- Manages patient flow through the Front Desk Department. Assures patients are acknowledged timely and delays are communicated to appropriate departments
- Other duties as assigned
Hourly Rate: $17.50 - $19.50 (based on a full-time, 40 hour work week). Individual compensation is based on various factors unique to each candidate, including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other position related components
Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent with training in clerical skills.
- One (1) year experience in a comparable position
- Medical office experience preferred
- Allscripts PM and EHR knowledge preferred but not required
- Must be able to read, write and speak the English language. A second language of Spanish is preferred
