Job Description
Our Fortune 50 Client is seeking a dedicated and experiencedPatient Care Coordinator to join their team. The Patient Care Coordinator will be responsible for efficiently registering and pre-registering patients, verifying insurance eligibility and benefits, ensuring accurate patient demographics, explaining hospital policies, financial responsibilities, and patient rights, as well as collecting co-payments and other patient liabilities. The Patient Care Coordinatorbrings excellent customer service skills and communication to ensure a positive patient experience.
Specific Duties:
- Register and Pre-register patients
- Verify Insurance eligibility, benefits, and authorizations
- Verify patient demographics
- Collect co-payments, co-insurance, and deductibles
Must-have Qualifications/Experience:
- Typing speed of 45 wpm; 10-key by touch
- Knowledge of insurance verification, authorizations, and billing processes for all payers including HMO, Commercial, Medicare, and Medi-Cal
- Proficiency in computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Minimum of one year experience working in a hospital Patient Registration department, physician office setting, healthcare insurance company, revenue cycle vendor, or other revenue cycle related roles
