- Answer phone calls, transfer and direct them as necessary
- Make Routine appointments for patients including same day, follow ups and Physicals, process cancellations and changes to existing appointments as requested
- Schedule New Patient appointments (requiring more information) with careful review of insurance accuracy that may affect open and closed providers
- Take and record telephone messages from patients, families or any party regarding patients, patient care or concerns and send to Physician Task group
- Redirect calls to office staff as needed.
- Train, develop and maintain good telephone skills to assist in training and leading new hires and temps as needed
- Update, or verify Insurance and/or demographics as system ALERTS come up
- Acknowledge ALERTS within the system for UPDATES/SCHEDULING needs or general knowledge as they are available
- Practice HIPPA guidelines as instructed, with all patient records and information trusted to you
- Notify management if pts is scheduled that have special needs, such as interpreters (language, deaf, etc.), language barriers or wheelchair/walker/assistance
- Verify address, phone numbers and hours of operation for clients calling
- Educate patients regarding our Physicians and general office information
- Keep track of Physician schedules, maintenance of & changes within to assure quality control and thoroughness throughout the day.
- Communicate through-out the office regarding patient concerns, problems with workflow, training needs and/or angry and emergent needs
Qualifications
- 1-year experience
- High School, GED
