Louisiana Gastroenterology Associates is a team of dedicated and accomplished professionals utilizing state of the art technology and proven methods to provide exceptional patient care. We are recruiting for a Patient Accounts Assistant who shares our passion for ensuring superior inpatient and outpatient care in the field of gastroenterology.

Responsibilities:

· Check out patients after appointments, collect payments.

· Schedule follow up appointments with patients.

· Confirm that insurance information in the electronic system is accurate, revise as needed.

· Obtain prior authorization verification from insurance companies when appropriate.

· Call patients 1 – 2 weeks prior to procedure to advise them of deposits that are due.

· Receive and process requests for medical records from providers, insurance companies, etc.

· Fax medical records to other parties as requested.

· Maintains patient privacy in conjunction with company policies, HIPAA guidelines and all relevant government regulations.

· Displays respectful behavior towards others.

Qualifications:

· High school completion certificate or diploma is required.

· Experience working in the business office of a medical facility is preferred.

· Attention to detail and good customer service skills are required.

· Must have good written and verbal communication skills, and organizational skills.

· Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office software and basic computer knowledge is required.

Hours of Work are Monday – Thursday, 8am – 5pm, Friday 8am – 1pm
