Job Title:Patient Accounting Representative
Reports To: Manager of Hospital Revenue Cycle
Job Summary:Performs timely billing of third-party hospital for patient accounts receivables and maintainsaccurate documentation of billing activity. Performs all adjustments in a timely manner.Assists Patient Accounting/FinanceDepartment with other duties as assigned.

Job Responsibilities:
1*Performs the necessary actions for the billing of third-party hospital claims.
2*Does transfers of payment/adjustments to the appropriate accounts after payment has been received.
3 * Performs follow-up billing to third party payers within the established timeframes and utilizes all computer-generated follow up documents to perform this duty.
4 *Reviews all itemized patient bills/claims for missing and/ or incorrect charges prior to billing.
5 * Keeps all contractual adjustments up to date and timely
6 * Performs all necessary validation/edit checks within our claims scrubber on a daily basis
7 * Prepares refunds and submits them on a timely basis
8 * Refers all problems to the Hospital Revenue Cycle Manager
9 * Obtains insurance information from the patient or responsible party if the information was not complete prior to billing
10 * Responds to insurances request by telephone or in writing as appropriate.
Requirements
- Education: High School Graduate or Equivalent
- Experience: Basic computer skills
