Position Summary

Processes daily payments to vendors by reviewing all payment requests and purchase orders submitted by the Fordham community through various portals (Concur, Chrome River, Jaggaer, Check Request).

Essential Functions

• Performs data entry of daily entries including and not limited to:
• Vendor Coding
• Monitoring electronic payment systems
• Daily correspondence
• Filing
• Requests for Stop Payments
• Assists other Accounts Payable staff in performing duties as needed or as directed by supervisors.
• Communicates with departments and vendors regarding payment issues or queries.
• Provides excellent customer service through the Finance Department call tree (Finesse and Jabber) and email.
• At year end closing, based on information provided by Accounting Services, reviews check requests over a specific dollar range to determine correct fiscal year and inform staff of any changes.
• Performs other projects as applicable.

Required Qualifications: Education and Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of Accounts Payable procedures and/or basic accounting skills.

Required Qualifications: Knowledge and Skills

• Working knowledge of applications\desktop software including Microsoft Office products.
• Ability to understand and learn account structures so as to be able to review account codes and key data.
• Well organized and able to work well in a multi-task, detail oriented environment.
• Self-motivated, highly detail oriented with the ability to prioritize tasks.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Mandatory Competency Testing
• Demonstrated Writing Ability
• Successful candidates should have a knowledge of and commitment to the goals of Jesuit Education.

• Some college or an associate’s degree

HOURS:

Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm

(Some evening and weekend flexibility required for department deadlines.)
