We are seeking a Patient Account Supervisorwho will assist in the development and implementation of new processes and procedures designed to improve billing services and the efficiency of operations. Promotes cooperation and teamwork within the department as well as ancillary departments. This position serves as a subject matter expert within the department, setting priorities and directing daily operations toward serving our patients.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Ensures that productivity and actions of the team meet/support the overall operational goals of the department as well as the company’s values, vision, and foundational tenets as established by manager/leadership.
- Routinely monitor & report daily/weekly/monthly team goals (KPIs) and communicate to staff and management, as well as encourage and motivate the team to achieve set goals.
- Perform monthly/quarterly quality assurance call audits and training.
- Oversight of patient credit balances & patient balance A/R
- Review/analyze/report on Patient Account-related trends/issues to manager/leadership.
- Maintain account escalation process for resolving difficult accounts.
- Hold weekly huddles and monthly team meetings recording agendas and communicating with management.
- Conducts oneself following company policies and procedures holding staff accountable for the same.
- Maintains the strictest confidentiality, adhering to all HIPAA guidelines and holding staff accountable for the same.

POSITION TYPE AND EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
- Full-Time
- Monday – Friday
- There is a possibility of working from home 2 days a week after 90 days of employment
TRAVEL
This position requires minimal travel. Will be expected to travel as necessary to all practice locations determined by the needs and growth of the practice and for offsite training as assigned.
SUPERVISION
Supervises Patient Account Representatives including but not limited to hiring, training, assigning work, managing & evaluating performance, and progressive disciplinary actions while ensuring appropriately documented in the employee’s personnel record.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education - College degree, or High School diploma with medical collections experience
Experience – Minimum 5 years of medical/healthcare office experience. One-year supervisory experience preferred. Working knowledge of ICD-9/10, CPT, and HCPCS coding, fee schedule reimbursement methodology, and regulatory requirements for provider coding and reimbursement. Working knowledge of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act including laws, regulations, and techniques
Communication – Excellent oral communication and writing skills.
Work Style - Must be able to work well independently but ask for help when needed. Ability to analyze and interpret information, ability to interact and decipher information telephonically and electronically.
